The University understands that in some cases a technical or business need may arise that does not fit into the defined policies and standards.  With this in mind a process exists for cases where a University department or organization wishes to request an exception.  All exceptions are approved by the University Web Advisory Committee.

Exceptions requests can be submitted via email to webadv@unm.edu.  Requests received by the first Friday of the month will be placed on the agenda for that months meeting which occurs on the third Friday of the month. A representative may attend the meeting to discuss the exception.

Exceptions must include the following:

  • The specific section of the Standard of Policy an exception is requested for
  • A business or technical case for why the exception is needed
  • Approval by the appropriate Dean or Directory
