The University understands that in some cases a technical or business need may arise that does not fit into the defined policies and standards.  With this in mind a process exists for cases where a University department or organization wishes to request an exception.  All exceptions are approved by the University Web Advisory Committee.

Exceptions requests can be submitted via email to  Requests received by the first Friday of the month will be placed on the agenda for that months meeting which occurs on the third Friday of the month. A representative may attend the meeting to discuss the exception.

Exceptions must include the following:

  • The specific section of the Standard of Policy an exception is requested for
  • A business or technical case for why the exception is needed
  • Approval by the appropriate Dean or Directory
